Who is responsible

The etixlabels.com website and the Etix application belong to RINT Sistemas & Integração, the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy matter, write to etix@rint.pt.

This website

The website uses no cookies, visitor statistics, advertising or third-party services. The fonts, the images and the only script (the one for the light or dark theme) come from the website itself.

If you choose the dark theme, your browser stores that choice on your computer (local storage) to keep it on the other pages. It is not sent to anyone and is removed when you switch back to the light theme.

The website's server records, for each request, the time, the page requested, the response and the browser, so that the service works and so that faults and abuse can be detected. These records do not store the IP address.

The website goes through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and delivers it faster. To do so, Cloudflare processes the IP address and the technical data of each request on RINT's behalf. The legal basis is RINT's legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available.

When you request the trial or a quote, or write to us

We use your name, company, email, phone and whatever you tell us to answer your request and, if we go ahead, for the quote and the contract. The legal basis is preparing or performing the contract you ask us for. We do not sell or share this data.

Requests made in the website's forms are stored in the database of the website's server, in the European Union. We send you an email confirming that we received your request.

If you ask for it in the form, we also send you tips on getting the most out of Etix and news by email. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to one of those emails or writing to etix@rint.pt.

We keep the requests and messages while the request is in progress or while there is a business relationship, and then for as long as the law requires (for example, what is needed for invoicing). If we do not go ahead, we delete them after 2 years.

The Etix application

Etix runs on your computer, without a server. The documents and the label data stay on your PC or in your company's folder and are not sent to RINT.

The application connects to the Internet only to check for new versions, on RINT's servers (etixlabels.com). In that request, the server and Cloudflare see the computer's IP address and the Etix version. If RINT's servers do not respond, the application looks for the versions on a third-party file distribution service in the United States, which sees the same. The legal basis is RINT's legitimate interest, and yours, in keeping the application up to date and secure.

The error log stays on your computer and only reaches RINT if you send it to support.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use providers that process data on RINT's behalf and only for the service they provide to us: the server hosting (in the European Union, in Frankfurt, Germany), Cloudflare (protection and delivery of the website), the service that sends the website's automatic emails and RINT's email service. When one of these providers processes data outside the European Union, it does so with the safeguards provided for in the General Data Protection Regulation, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its correction, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest, by writing to etix@rint.pt. We reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt).
